Biography

Davide Manti (Alessandria, 1973 -) graduated in Architecture at the University of Genoa with a thesis about HOUSES and GHOSTS in horror movies, and he won the "Filippo Sacchi" award in 2002 for the best thesis about film topic by italian SNGCI journalists.
He is an architect, painter, photographer, editor for Cinema and TV; he also writes articles on some Italian web-zine and he's the author of "CA(U)SE PERTURBANTI. Architetture horror fuori e dentro lo schermo" (Lindau, 2003), "Lo schermo infestato: Architetture perturbanti nel cinema" in the collective volume "Spiriti inquilini. Le case 'infestate' fra palcoscenici e tribunali" G. Mina curator (by Besa, 2008) and "Orrori in movimento", in Moviement, Horror Made in Italy, Gemma Lanzo publisher , Manduria (Ta), Oct 2009.
He currently teaches Technology in Bologna but gravitates through Genoa, Alassio (SV) and Alessandria. Among his passions there are the seaside, Alfred Hitchcock, painting and collage, analog photography (he also collects ancient machines and equipment), Super8 and 8mm films that changes with editing, collaging, painting, joining with found-footage films obtaining another visual objects. Periodically destroys its work with bleach and muriatic acid.
