Biography

Silvio Gatto was born in Sicily in the august of 1986. In Menfi, a town that look at the southwestern coast of Sicily, he lived and attended the High School of Science. Subsequently he moved to Palermo, the island’s capital, where he attended the School of Architecture. An artist has, perhaps physiologically, an innate curiosity and desire to move, this belief leads him to make several trips/study abroad. In 2010 in New York; in 2011-2012 in France, where he lived and studied to the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture in Nantes, but also in Dublin. Passionate about photography, painting, drawing and architecture; he loves the art in all its forms. Around the years 2000, he heard louder and louder, his passion for creativity and painting. He is dedicated to creating abstract artworks, that hide feelings, emotions, moods, often emphasizing the materiality of the artwork and pointing to a continuous research of materials and new techniques of realization for his art. Lover of photography, art to “capture”, he prefers black and white images or with the colorenhancement of artwork’s features. He loves photographic shots made during his adventures, which led him to discover new cities, new people and a new art. In 2011 he exhibited at the Vista Arte e Counicazione Gallery and GARD Gallery in Rome; at the Royal Opera Arcade “ROA Gallery” in London. In 2012 he take part to expo at the Maison de l’Europe and at the Salle du Minage de Clisson in Nantes. In the same year, he was selected among the artists to be included in the volume dedicated to the art of Post-Avant Garde: “La Via Italiana all’Informale. Da Afro, Vedova e Burri alle ultime tendenze” by Virgilio Patarini, for the Giorgio Mondadori editions. He take part in the exhibition dedicated to the Perspective Post- Avant Gard at Zenobio Palace in Venice. In 2013, during the presentation of the book 's art edited by G. Mondadori exhibited at Palazzo della Racchetta, Ferrara.
