Biography

I photograph objects, scenes and spaces in the everyday urban environment such as highways, cranes, bridges, airplanes, power lines and factories. I shot these industrial spaces in the outer boroughs of New York City, New Jersey and Western Pennsylvania. They were often restricted areas around factories, power plants and airports at the fringes of the city. These heavy industry landscapes and other structures shape through lines, outlines and texture the massive forms of production that shape American culture. Photographing them is how I negotiate the dynamic visual experience of a city.
