Biography
Matilde Soligno was born in Bologna, Italy in 1980. The object of her artistic research is visual culture in general. In her work, she reflects on the power of photography, its place in the history of images, and its connection with memory and perception.
Her photography work has been exhibited internationally: among her solo shows, Ennagon Gallery, New York City 2008, and Centrale Fotografia, Fano 2013; among her group shows: Foley and Sasha Wolf Galleries, New York City 2010.
Since 2011, she has been co-founder of collective art project Vênus et Milö, dedicated to artistic research in the fields of publishing and design, through which in 2013 her artist book «Reaching The Distance» was published. Since 2013, she has been co-founder of contemporary art publication Droste Effect.
