Biography
I am interested in the tensions between order and chaos, expressiveness and restraint, the gestural and the conceptual.
My work explores moments in time and space. The paintings construction develops through layering expression with calculation,
“Amazingly gestural signs, your material is ‘soft,’ your colours vibrate as if to void the barriers between space and time. The deformation / distortion of objects, suggests revisiting the mathematical algorithm so loved by Fibonacci. Your navigation and scrolling through images also reminds us of the surrealist and metaphysical spatial constructions typical of Dalí, Ernst. In addition to this a balanced thermodynamic game as amply represented by Leonardo and Peter Doig.
Your product research, without any doubt is influenced, finally, by Magical Realism, but your realism' can be said to be ‘post trans-avant-garde’, since it expresses the precariousness of a virtual balance in contemporary society, engulfed by mass mediation.”
