Biography

Alberto Dambruoso is a professor, art historian, critic and independent curator of modern and contemporary art based in Rome for over 10 years. He studied Art History in the Facoltà di Beni Cuturali della Tuscia (Viterbo), specialized in Géstion du Patrimoine Francais et Européen at the Sorbonne University (Paris), and received a diploma in Art History Education at Università Cà Foscari (Venice). As assistant to Professor Maurizio Calvesi—one of the most eminent art historians worldwide—Dambruoso curated numerous exhibitions of Italian art of the 1960s, and is currently conducting a research project assigned by the Balzan Prize to catalogue the work of Umberto Boccioni. In early 2010, Dambruoso initiated “I Martedi Critici,” a forum dedicated to informal exchange between artist, critic, and audience within the context of contemporary art. After the success got in Rome in the last two years the program moved to Milan at the Pecci Museum for six meetings (2011) and now is hosted at the Pan Museum in Naples for other six meetings.
