Biography
Self-taught artist from Rome, Cecilia De Lucia, has always been a lover of glass and calligraphy. The glass is chosen as a support for painting in acrylic fixe-sous-verre and etching.
light reflections and trasparency gives the work a dreamlike atmosphere, as a window on the surreal. While the handwriting is recognized as distinctive and unique sign of our personality, as a finger print always recognizable. Here are born my WordsPortraits calligraphic portraits, ink on paper, where song lyrics, poems, create the same faces of their authors. Physical and ephemeral images of Modern Icons are imprinted in our minds, but now they discover a new function: the words of quotations and song's lyrics create the very essence of the authors.
