Biography
Born in Bari in 1982, he lives in Venice. In 2007 he graduated in Visual Arts (BA program) and afterwards he specialized in Visual Communications (MA program) at University IUAV of Venice. In 2010 he was artist in residence at Claudio Buziol Foundation in Venice and in 2011 he took part in the residence/workshop held by Adrian Paci at Rave East Village in Trivignano Udinese.
In 2011 he took part in the 15th Tallinn Print Triennial and in a performative event at the Denmark Pavilion (Osloo Floating Pavilion) of the 54th Venice Biennale. In 2012 he was artist in residence at Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation, Venice.
In the 2013 he has been selected to take part in the residency program of the Institute of Contemporary Art and International Cultural Exchange in Tokyo, Tokyo Wonder Site.
For the project realized in Japan the artist has won a grant (Movin’Up) provided by the Italian Ministry of Culture and the GAI (Giovani Artisti Italiani), an association in support of the young Italian artists.
Ryts Monet is now assistant of the professor Agnes Kohlmeyer for the final Workshop of Visual Arts at the Faculty of Arts and Design, University IUAV of Venice.
