Biography
Born in 1983, Emeric Lhuisset grew up in suburban Paris. He lives between Middle East and Paris (France).
Graduate from the fine art school of Paris (Ensba), with the support of Guillaume Paris, Jean-Marc Bustamante and Christian Boltanski in 2009.
He participated in numerous exhibitions and interventions in France (Centquatre, Salon d’art contemporain de Montrouge, Espace Electra, Grand Palais -FIAC-, Slick, La Villette, Centre Pompidou…) and abroad (Andrea Meislin Gallery in New York, Solar da Beira in Brazil, Galleria do Palacio in Portugal, Shunt in London, PAN in Italia…).
In parallel with his artistic practice, he is teaching at the Institute of political study of Paris (Sciences Po) and conducts a lecture series between Sciences Po Paris and NYU (New York University) in Paris about "contemporary art and geopolitics".
His work is articulate around the actuality and this is with a journalist process that he does a big work of investigation (in the media and in the concerned places) that precedes the realisation of his art pieces.
We find him with FARC in Colombia (2006), during winter in Siberia (2009), in the Pakistani Tribal area (2004), in Afghanistan (2004 and 2010), in Iraq (2010 and 2011), or crossing Amazonia (2006)…
He continues to travel the world, a silent witness to places where many would no longer dare to go. His work presents not the immediately apparent, but rather the milestones of reflection and a questioning of our society.
