Biography
I am a self-taught painter and only recently, thanks to the encouragement and trust of who believed in me, I managed to overcome my self-restraint and started exhibiting my paintings.
After a figurative beginning, during which I improved the oil technique, I began to explore new routes, looking for a more effective way to express my hidden emotions. Then I moved on from figurative to abstract painting. My works reflect my inner transition: I changed my style but mainly I came to a much changed perception of myself. It was a true rebirth, a research among quiet emotions that today are surfing back, leaving behind conventions, appearances, social stereotypes and opening myself to a fuller freedom of expression, with no more fears or shames. An inner dialogue and a much more authentic image of myself expressed on the canvas. Different levels, the juxtaposition of new and old, sequences, they are nothing but the metaphor of a change, where painting plays a double role: it highlights it and at the same time it evokes it. In such a process of changing and being born again I do not deny anything: I consider all my past a precious fortune.
The images overlapping, the surreal setting, details hidden behind meaningful symbols, are all stylistic refinements that tell of experiences, memories, perfumes, words and gestures: a migration of the soul, transferred onto the paintings.
She works on geometrical shapes, on their particular organization and color patterns on the canvas, through which she expresses dynamic variations as a result of insuppressible emotional requests. Her painting is symptomatic of a very refined and rational nature, as well as of an adventurous and dreaming one.
