Biography
Elena Tagliapietra was born in Venice, Italy, and lives in Milan and Venice. Elena completed her education at University of Verona, taking the degree in Phisical education. She works using perfomance, video, photography and body painting, to analyze the intimate relationship between man and the world he has created. Her works were featured in the Vitraria Glass+A Museum in Venice and in many Sotheby’s auction in Milan for charity; finalist and special price at ‘Arte Laguna Prize’ 11.12; many of her works are about the human rights and violence against women, that’s why she is also supported by the Chelko Foundation of Atlanta. Her works were exhibited in many countries around the world. The work of Elena Tagliapietra has become a symbol of Venice and the city’s struggles to keep its identity and integrity. Her major art performances A Rose for Venice and Being Venice received immense media attention from all around the world
