BIOGRAPHY
The Sicilian artist Mario Marasà obtained the qualification of Master of Art in 1991 and that of Maturità d'Arte Applied in 1993.
In 2005 he graduated in Literature at the University of Catania and today teaches Letters at the Second Degree Educational Institutes.
He has obtained the publication of his biography and some of his works in specialized magazines and important art sites. In addition to participating in collective painting exhibitions at renowned cultural and artistic centers, he is dedicated above all to the creation of personnel at regional, national and international level, obtaining broad support from critics and the public and obtaining prizes and awards. Among his participations, worthy of note are those that see him present with his works in several Italian cities, including Enna, Catania, Siena, Padua, Florence, Rome.
He currently works in Tuscany, where he holds courses and workshops in drawing and painting as a Master of Arts, organizes competitions and prepares exhibitions and impromptu paintings as artistic director or holds the role of jury member. Collaborates at national level with Academies, Associations and Art Institutes; moreover, for Merchants of Sacred Art (and not) it carries out copies of the author on commission, for private and public collections.
Always passionate about the great Masters of Painting, the artist's style presents a sensitivity that turns towards Surrealism, Symbolism and Expressionism.
His artistic conception comes to life from the need to observe external reality, an indispensable base of inspiration, and to transform it according to the dictates of emotions, to overcome and sublimate it, making it visible as something supernatural, according to a trend of "Beyond-Realism" , as the artist himself likes to call it.
It prefers the human figure: in fact, it often dominates the work almost completely, although it is possible to perceive, with respect to the other elements of the pictorial scene, a search for contact, a link that is not only physical, but also and above all spiritual and transcendental. The whole, steeped in transparencies, geometric figures and lines, with glimpses of color that envelop it almost as if to appropriate it, aspires to a rarefied dimension of dream, though palpitating with humanity.
An evolving path, which makes art the privileged moment of a continuous and indispensable re-discovery of self and the world.

CRITICAL APPRECIATION
Mario Marasà was born in Enna on February 7th , 1974: after attending the Institute of Arts he got a degree in 1993. From the beginning, the artist demonstrates a keen sensitivity to the Arts, expressing himself with excellent results both in pictorial field and in poetry. With a chromatic strength, amplified by an extraordinary imagination able to overcome the limitations of the simple process of reworking, the artist is able to draw the existential problems of our time with clear awareness, sublimating them in the language of painting with very particular aesthetic refinement , but especially in his very personalized style. Chromatically he favors somber hues, that in certain paintings darken further to contrast with prudent luministic ignitions that give depth to the figures. The pictorial compositions of Mario Marasà are the result of a research carried out with a serious and constructive engagement concerning both the content and the composition. Art and life are integrated into the creativity of the artist spontaneously, expressing the richness of the feelings and the spirituality of his soul .
