Biography

Marco IACOBELLI was born in Naples on July 27, 1963, moved very young in Abruzzo, he graduated from the Art School of Teramo and works as a graphic designer and attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia, where he explores various painting techniques.

For many years, decanted the artistic passion and have only recently found their creative energy is channeled in the abstractionism of matter informally.
This style allows him to experience a three-dimensional color research on emotions, especially using papier mache, poor material that is well suited for such purposes.

The technique of Japanese paper mache, with a modern interpretation, allows the artist to move in his own world cromoplastico, producing pictograms extremely expressive sculptures that "coming out" of the canvas, pushing the viewer to touch the work with their own fingers in order to perceive the corporeal.

This procedure, which originated in Japan in the second century AD gives the products a special resistance.

"Before the works of Iacobelli grow wild questions about the meaning of things and the order taking in Nature. A search of rare expressive depth that explores the potential of the material and charm that inspired signs recreated by the artist but as left by time, sedimented in a story that begins with the man and his attempt to give a name to things make them their own and together to grasp the meaning, to seize not only physically, to collect the signals.
And these are the tracks that the artist leaves the canvas, signals that become intelligible to the extent that they know deep in touch with the spell that art, when that is able to create. "

Mark Iacobelli seems to know the secret of the primordial matter, knows how to manifest the power, creates haunting tracks that attract us, involve us, and make us feel small, silent witnesses to a puissance which is a visual metaphor that art and creativity.
