Biography
I am interested in giving the viewer a place within the narrative by creating an environment that elevates the spiritual manifestations of human connection through sensations. The relationship to the “self” relates to the relationship the figure has to its surroundings. The figure becomes the embodiment of the environment and not just a participant in it. By stimulating the sense of touch visually with the melding of materials with clay the figures become accessible beyond sight. The tableau of the installation completes the situation and enables the viewer further access into the narrative. The figure moves beyond being represented in the present and gains a past as well as a future.
