Biography

Statement.
*My art is based on my personal life experience in Gaza…*. Mohammed Joha is one of the most interesting artists from Palestine, who stands out by a very elaborate personal style of painting, a masterly combination of various artistic elements in his compositions, and most sophisticated messages. His art focuses on the latest social and political events and on the human being, in particular children, as they are the part of society which needs special protection. The idea behind his messages is clear, the transposition of the messages into his artistic language, however, is a long process, which requires high concentration and best skills. The astonishing thing about Joha’s art is, that the intellectual and artistic complexity of each of his works doesn’t lock us up in its detailed descriptions, but, on the contrary, it is open for our own imagination and interpretation. This is because the multiple artistic expressions created by the artist are inspired by universal values that become objective communication of an idea and represent the memory of a collective entity. The universal character of the message overcomes the cultural barriers of temporal or local individualistic gestures.
