Biography

My work explores everyday life and ethereal themes, often with references to personal and shared cultural, social and environmental experiences.

It is an eclectic artistic practice that incorporates a broad range of disciplines in the work – drawing, painting, including recent and renewed forays into sculpture, photography and the use of found materials.

Childhood exposure to regular travel, vivid life impressions and cultural contrasts experienced have influenced the work. The Caribbean especially enthralled me with its magical effervescent flora and fauna, and its rich ethnic and cultural diversity.

Image making and visual narrative are both active ingredients in an interchange that permits exploration of the tangible and ethereal, of space and time, while drawing on themes from cultural, social or environmental sources via abstraction and figuration. I often explore themes through the development of series.
