Biography
Berlin-based artist Boris Eldagsen was born 1970 in Pirmasens, Germany. He studied philosophy at the Albertus-Magnus-Universität Cologne / Germany and fine arts at Akademie für Bildende Künste Mainz, Academy of Fine Arts Prague / Czech Republic and Sarojini Naidu School of Performing Arts, Fine Arts & Communication Hyderabad / India.
His work revolves around the idea of losing yourself as a redemptive mode to being human.
Boris’ work has been shown internationally in institutions such as Fridericianum Kassel, Deichtorhallen Hamburg, Museum of Modern Art Moscow, Museum of New Art Detroit and Australian Centre for Photography Sydney to a range of festivals and biennales such as the Edinburgh Art Festival, European Media Art Festival Osnabrück, Videonale Bonn, Athens Video Art Festival, Kuyre Istanbul, Media Forum Moscow, Media Art Biennale Wroclaw, Biennale Le Havre and Biennale of Electronic Arts Perth. He has also been featured at the Internet Pavilion / Venice Biennale.
Boris works as multi-media consultant and an arts lecturer at the Centre for Ideas / Victorian College of the Arts and Music, Melbourne and the PSC Melbourne. He has also been teaching at Akademie für Bildende Künste Mainz, RMIT University Melbourne, Monash University Melbourne, Sommerakademie des Fotoforums Frankfurt, Westlicht Wien, CCP Melbourne.
For his collaborative practice BORIS+NATASCHA he is represented by Yasha Young Gallery Berlin / New York.
