Biography
Ben was born in Berkeley, USA and grew up in Israel. A self taught photographer, he spent many years exploring the relationships between different cultures.. Later, he added digital manipulation to his photography expertise and extended his professional artistic career. In 2001, he moved to Sydney, Australia and in 2006 he joined the College of Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales to pursue a BFA in Printmaking – devising methods of combining photography and printmaking through photosensitive techniques. His photographs and prints have won several national awards and have been exhibited in various group shows in Australia.
In his practise, Ben concerns himself with the idea of authentic identity in the context of a consumer culture. He utilizes printmaking techniques to deal with ideas of mass production and reproduction.
