Biography
The focus of my artwork is the concept of Memory, identifying both what is recalled and what is forgotten as fundamental and complementary aspects of its nature. If we apply this definition, memory appears to us as the result of a process of selection of forms, a process constituted by these two aspects. Identifiable in the first category are the ‘strong’ forms, that is forms which leave a lasting impression, continuing to manifest themselves with the passing of years; in the second category are placed the weak forms, meaning those which are abandoned and progressively forgotten over time. The intent of my artistic research is that of uncovering the latter category, offering elements from it to the viewers through the use of various mediums, especially painting, sculpture, and mixed media works. Through the paintings and objects displayed, I seek to describe a history which has been lost over time, with the intent of recreating a memory which I believe can be defined as “absolute”, in that it is composed of both strong elements; known to most people, and weak elements; which often appear as deviating, because of the difficulty of translating them into meaning.
