Biography
Hello. I am a 26 year old female living and working in the San Francisco Bay area and my artistic passion is printmaking. More specifically, my personal work consists of large scale Sumi-printed woodblocks and copper plate etchings. In addition to printmaking techniques I also create many line drawings, ink washes, collages, and paintings. These works are often preliminary studies for my prints but sometimes take on a life of their own and become a finished piece in and of themselves.
My work focuses on the perception of the individual and society through the warped lens of memory. Often manipulating my original source material (personal and found photographs) to create images that have a certain deja-vu quality, allowing the viewer access to the work through their strange familiarity while still possessing an ambiguity that forces the viewer to try and fill in the blanks.
