Female beauty is the main theme of Emilie Teillaud’s paintings. Impassioned images, soft, flexible, full of femininity and charm appear on the canvas as if they came from a dream, from a fleeting vision, where the body and face are mixed. The artist tries to capture the essence of women's image, to depict the whole elegant complexity and capricious inconsistency of female nature.
Basic colours of paintings are always very transparent and complex. The artist is fond of grisaille technique, when the picture is presented by only two colors. This may be a combination of red and pink, brown and ocher, orange and yellow. Also, Emilie Teillaud often paints in a mixed technique, using ink and acrylic, charcoal and pastels, even tea and walnut husks, thus emphasizing the contrast of shape, color and texture.
