Biography
Bounded to arts since her childhood due to her father's interests, she eventually opted for writing, composing small prose poems which accompanied or were accompanied by pictures compiled from different sources. Motivated by her father, a great enthusiastic since he was very young, and after being in contact with a photography group, she decided to go into this discipline to use her own photographs for her writings. As a self-taught person, experimenting with lights and shadows, colours and their tonalities, she discovered a new way of developing her creativity, playing with the moments captured through the lens until getting intimate, simple pictures, which, when they come into contact with the retina, they cause some kind of feeling capable to be expressed in words. Pictures in prose.
In her works, landscape is not as important as light, its texture, the sound it makes when it pierces us. The dark surfaces are stormed and the look gets lost in a fragile balance. Thus, afterwards, from the darkness, with clarity, we perceive the visions.
By her photographs, we go into the paths of light in gloom, through its presence or the shades of its absence. Shocking the retine, transforming us into chiaroscuro voyeurs, making us feel that shadows, without touching us, can caress us better than anybody.
When she is working with the photographs taken, she lets them speak to her, tell her stories... She blends, enhances, erases, adds, lights... until the picture, at least, becomes a word and that amalgam of word and image is materialized.
She has showed her works collectively and individually in and outside the Island. She makes personal and collective art projects in the photo and video fields. She has participated in several contests, being selected and/or awarded.
