Biography
Roberto Alfano: photographer, teacher, didactics expert, founder of Spazio Labo’ | Center of photography. He lives and works in Bologna. In January 2010 he set up the Spazio Labo’ |Center of photography in Bologna and he is still managing it now together with Laura De Marco. He has been teaching photography since more than six years, ranging from subjects such as shooting techniques, photographic language, analogical and digital post production, editing. He worked with the City of Bologna shooting photos of the summer events (Bologna Estate, Bè) and also for many private companies (Carpigiani, Promotor, Smau, MotorShow, Ducati, and more) doing photographic advertising campaigns. He exhibited his works in numerous collectives in Italy and abroad. From October to November 2009 he worked on a personal project with the photographer David Alan Harvey in New York City. After that he often went back to New York to work on photographic projects and collaborations, independent or with Spazio Labo’ (such as the project “Photography Workshop in New York”, third edition in the 2012). In July 2010 he was invited to take part to the artistic residence of Roccagloriosa (Sa); in April 2011 he worked on a project called “A room with a view” about the residence Nosadella Due (Bo). In October 2011 he exhibited his works with Giuseppe De Mattia and Laura De Marco at the festival Archivio Aperto (Bo), a photographic research project. Since 2010 he has been collaborating with Foiano FotoFestival and SI Fest (Savignano Immagini), as critic and judge.
