Biography

My paintings come from of love for the creative process, of love for nature, of love for people and of love for color. I love to work with color and light in representing the places, events and moods I have seen. The majority of the works start from sketches, photographs or just memories of a walk, travel, meetings or simply people. My work is as much about memory as it is about place. I look upon my paintings as a historical map of my life, which I am constantly creating. At some point the painting process inevitably takes over and starts to generate the paintings subsequent direction. To me it is the way it can morph in to a different state with in minutes. My finished piece needs to feel balanced to me. Balanced in the colors I've used, a balance in the light. Original elements can then be re introduced to the work.
