Biography
Fap is project of contemporary art which is developed around a space. It is active container whose aim is promotion of emerging artistic forms.FAP is a residence for artists, a fertile and vital laboratory.
It is fundamental for us to give a correct definition of artistic residence according to the space-time coordinates, that is the Space and the Time of the vision and of the creation.
Residency means living in a specific space and in a specific time.
Our space is an historical building ( with its gardens and lands ), witness of many generations and of important meetings during the period of the Italian unification. A real place then, a place which carries the History, but that History opened to a new concept of the relation man-time. as Marc Bloch has taught. Residence is also memory.

The time of a construction of a story and a vision.
The idea of residence as construction reveals the idea of a process: the creative process of a vision, an operating process, an open site, kinetic flux.
Far from contemporary art official circuits we aim to build paths and experiences of creation starting from this place and encouraging relations between minds and cultures.
Every artist who finds hospitality brings his own artistic vision, which, inspired by the place and by its synergies, will start a reflection and a concrete action on the territory, this specific region in the South of Italy.
The artistic creation’s process taken into account arises from different visions, stories and places, but all present in a specific moment and in a specific place, that is our present in this space.
