Biography
Andrea Greco was born in 1978, lives and works in Mozzate, near Como. He is grandson of a painter and sculptor and he began to paint a self-taught young, preferring studies related to teaching. He joined various courses based on the methodology of Bruno Munari. He works by creating a series of works that explore the intimacy of contemporary man. He treats moods, re-enactments of memory, emotional tensions, all those elements that make us both a deep involvement of the soul of each of us.
Between 2007 and 2010, he travelled in Kenya and Turkey where he was able to perfect the use of natural pigments. It carries out between 2009 and 2010 a series of works called Polaroid.
In 2010 he exhibited in Berlin, the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Ljubljana, Rome, Como and Milan. In the same year was reported on the prize with the work Polaroid of my little world. Subsequently participated in the Biennial of Ferrara. In 2011 he was one of the finalists of Artgallery of Milan with The voice of the heath, a work that is part of the series of paintings called Moors. In 2012, after various experiments, presents the series of works Karma, made with various types of tar, enamels, pigments and resins. In these works, it is represented through an informal painting, the newspaper man, a continuous dance searching for a balance between the spiritual and corporeal sphere. In the same year was reported to the art prize Jacopino from Tradate and selected for the exhibition Up_nea 2012 Fabbrica Borroni.
At the end of 2012 he started working on a new series of paintings called The flowers are crying. In this case the informal painting has almost a form, in fact, is recognizable a bouquet of flowers, a metaphor beloved by the artist, in order to allow the viewer to focus on another particular in this way and avoid an unforgivable mistake: not to be able to "feel" the crying of flowers and classify everything as trivial dew.In 2013 is presented in the book Art The Italian way to informal, from Burri, Afro Widow and the latest trends, published by Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori as one of the latest trends in informal Italian. His works are part of numerous private collections.
