Biography

My passion started when my father brought back some notebooks from his office. He would say “Draw!” and when he’d come back they would be already full. My journey has been a very long and often dispersive one: initially, it was of a reproduction of what I saw in life, more than anything; however, in these last years, I’ve discovered a passion for personal interpretation and a curiosity for the strangest materials, how they’re made and the different processes that can transform them in form and substance.
I think personal style is just another word used to classify ideas, I don’t think it’s essential. I believe arousing an emotion is more important: get into a building without buzzing the right surname, but simply saying “It’s the florist!” dropping flowers and running. The techniques I use are based on the principles of re-use of waste materials; the materiality and layering of colour are definitely among my favorites. I work on and still am on interpreting social issues concerning various personal “hells” and portraying them physically through material painting, sculpture, poetry, photography. The craftsmanship is another important part of my artistic career, having first attended a fashion school and then increased my knowledge in tapestry.
I've been recently trying to approach more and more professional knowledge with artistic experimentation, creating home furnishings and fashion accessories that don’t only have aesthetic purposes, but are first and foremost functional.
