Biography
Anna was born in the Czech Republic and at present studies at Goldsmiths University, London. She has always been passionate about the arts. From the age of thirteen, when she became a member of Kids Television in her native Prague, her increasing fascination with all aspects of the filmmaking process has proved instrumental in her decision to dedicate herself to a career in the fields of photography and the moving image. This dedication has led to periods of extensive travel in which her desire to tell the stories of those around her in as moving, intelligent and, above all, truthful way as possible has been of paramount importance. Most recently an empathy with the disadvantaged and dispossessed has led to her volunteering to work with children in Guatemala and also continues to inform her life as an artist, her latest venture, Up the Hill, a projected documentary on the plight of the orphans of Tanzania being representative of this outlook. Anna’s previous work has also included short fiction, music videos and fashion films working for emerging designers such as Anna Popovich in London and Jakoby by Kristyna Javurkova in Prague. In 2013, Anna was chosen to be the first beneficiary of a Nurturing New Talent initiative instigated by White Space Films for her short film Le Diner.
