Biography

Today, I believe that graphic designer should be an entrepreneur, problem solver, and social activist.
Living in a region that is characterised by constant turmoil has taught me that it is our mission as designers and artists is to be socially active in our respective communities. Throughout the eventful year of 2011, I discovered new dimensions of social activism. The massive change happening in our part of the world drove me to start creating social/political posters.
In one of the classes during university, we were assigned to a project where we had do a design about our city, the city where we were born and grew up. I decided to do a poster about the thing I really hate in my city. That was the fact that every member of my society talks about everything and anything, disregarding the damage this could make on such small society. After that project, I started producing posters that highlighted local, regional and international issues.
These posters were exhibited locally and internationally. Additionally, my artworks won several competitions, exhibited, and published locally and internationally. I consider social media as the main platform to showcase my work, after, comes the exhibitions and galleries.
I developed my style after I got inspired from different artists such as Emil Ruder, Reza Abedini, and Armin Hofmann, and art movements. As for the limited colours and paper, I try to link my artwork to the Russian propaganda and Constructivism art movement. Their posters were critical of the system and politics in a unique way. They were bold, funny and social. They were direct and indirect. They used very limited number of colours and very cheap materials because of their poor economic status. I mixed all.
It is worth mentioning that I was bold and outspoken in these posters, criticising the negative habits and incidents in my society and presenting them in simple, yet metaphoric illustrations. My posters are not designed to show off before artists, nor to be only exhibited in fancy places. My posters are meant to be meaningful for the people, and an interest for art enthusiasts. I call my posters, Visual Reactions.
