Biography
Gazmend Freitag, a Kosovo Albanian residing in Austria since 2004, was born on May 25, 1968 in Kosovo. He originally wanted to be a lawyer, however, political changes in the region put a halt on his law degree, and he travelled to Germany in 1990. He quickly picked up his old childhood passion of art. His main talent is in graphic works, consisting of oil canvas paintings, pencil, ink, mixed media artworks, and portrait. Many works are autobiographical or inspired by his environment. Over the years, many well-known artists throughout Europe, as well as realist painters in America have influenced him. He has developed a style between realism and impressionism, which can be found again throughout his work: portrait, landscapes, nudes, still life. Since September 2013 he is studying Nudes at The University of Art and Design Linz. His last exhibition was in january/february 2014 at the Osteria Allora in Vienna in cooperation with Galeriestudio38
