Biography

Born in the 90s and bred in Hong Kong and a graduate of Wesleyan University, Vivian Ho is an emerging artist who is fast gaining attention in Hong Kong. Her growing body of work has shown a particular appetite for magnifying everyday objects – most notably in her oil paintings of dead fish from wet markets – and injecting them with vivid surreal impressions and black humor. Vivian's niche is large-scaled figurative oil and pastel paintings that aim to evoke powerful emotional responses. Vivian has held multiple solo and group shows in the United States, Italy, Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong. Many of her works are held in private collections around the globe. Her latest Solo Exhibition “We Could Start Over” at the Artify Gallery HK has been extremely well-received.
Vivian is the Key Artist of this year’s Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF). Her illustration works have also been widely featured on various local magazines.
