Biography

CLARISSA CAMPIRONI

The Art of Clarissa Campironi from the past, the techniques she uses, but is projected into

the future, for the themes loves to recount. Glocal Milanese artist, has traveled the world,

living a year between Los Angeles and New York, but the East is what is most

fascinating and after engagement with the Venice Biennale, the artist moved a few months

between Shanghai and Hong Kong, defining her inspiration. Born in Milan in 1985, her art

studies culminated at the Brera Academy, where she studied painting, art that grows from

childhood. How many dancers, the same as Degas, passed under the gentle stroke of

her pastels. Her style comes in fact from the beloved Impressionist, but her

techniques ranging from oil on canvas with pastel, charcoal. Even today her art uses the

same tools, including the spindle tree, an ancient material as it is the language that she

uses in her paintings: Aramaic, which shows her deep concern for atmosphere and a

world away, mystical , sacred. But the work of Clarissa Campironi, who with her figurative

art moves away from the fashions and trends of contemporary performative, is very

real. Her look is on globalization, unbridled expansion and problematic than they once call

edemerging countries, today's world powers: the fat kid's Chinese "break out?" Won first

award dedicated to the Expo 2015, IMAFestival, tells her choice of using food as a

metaphor for the development and decline. Often her paintings are seemingly ironic,

because it deals with the desired "light" topics at times dramatic.
