Biography
It is natural for me to paint as the most powerful and immediate way of responding to the world around me, For me painting is about making the subject special. I seek to honour what is not traditionally painted - the messy, so- called ugly and overlooked elements of nature. Tree branches and hedgerows appear haphazard (they are not of course). They are intimately linked to me and the process of looking. using an apparently outdated method to say " look, here is something wonderful". I hope my work prompts others to take time and find the mystery of the moment in this complicated and wonderful world.
