Biography

I am an architect born in 1963. I first became passionate about technical drawing from which my “expressive“ path originated and grew: at the beginning abstract ink drawings, mixed techniques of the early ‘90s, then using CAD in computer graphics.
At the same time, I got into “hand” drawing with traditional techniques as well.
Then I discovered the material and I started painting. My painting can be defined as informal, but it’s for sure a non-gestural kind of informal one. A base coat to work on needs to be prepared first, applying the color paint uniformly in order that brushstrokes cannot be distinguished.
I currently use paper and glue mixed with color: through several steps and overlaps, I get to the balance that give birth to my paintings. And right because of their material texture, they have many references to “natural” shapes: and it’s very easy to identify faces or figures that look like living in the canvas, a microcosm where everyone can imagine and build his own history.
