Biography
Initially centered on the illustration, more and more, in recent years, the artistic career of Martina Merlini multiformemente winds in the wake of the exploration, involving a variety of techniques, materials and media that converge in the search for a formal balance delicately built on ‘ harmony of geometric and abstract elements.
graduated in 2009 at European Design Institute (IED), she began an on going installative project with artist Tellas, a giant nest surrounded by houndreds of sketches of birds and plants.
in 2013 she focoused on a new technique using wax and acrylic to create an "rational form of casuality", and she showed it for the first time at Elastico Gallery for her second solo show called WAX.
Martina has partecipated to many collective shows in and outside Italy, as A Major Minority (by Graffuturism collective) and Space //Squared (curated by Sven Davis), both located in San Francisco and Drawing for the Masses, 999 gallery, Rome.
