Biography
Armando Ostuni was born in Monopoli (Bari) where he still lives and works. He was only a child when he started painting and, since he was very young , Armando attended places where he could improve his faculties. In 1982 , he exposed his works in a personal show. At the beginning he was interested in classical art but artists such as De Chirico and Savino definitely influenced his sensitivity and fantasy. Who knows this artist, remembers him because of his pictorial mysteries, his huge alphabet letters encounters. These letters are set in unreal brightened landscapes. Now he has changed. It is very common for a painter. His search is his strength. Now, throughout the sign and the shape, he goes forward mysterious mental lanes looking for the source of his “LEGACCI”. Bonds that the mind builds starting from our birth, which conditions our thought, behaviour and choices. LEGACCI …they must be broken to taste freedom, to keep our most beautiful dreams, to link mind and body, to tie the memory ways and to keep in touch with life avoiding to get lost.
