Biography

It was not until 1996 that I was given a reflex camera as a present. That was my starting point to be passionately fond of photography. At this moment I was already deeply attracted by it, but it was more as a spectator than as an executer. When I came into contact with B/W laboratory, I discovered the magic of the developing process and the technical experimentation with ancient processes, something that still astonishes me nowadays and to which I keep on devoting part of my energies.
I enjoy taking photos if I have a clear reason to begin to do it, an idea or subject to develop, when I go out with the intention to take them. Taking photos compulsively doesn't motivate me at all; I'm not one of these people who usually pick up the camera, and lesser from the spread of the huge range of electronic devices with which people tend to bombard us with images at present.
I'm interested in daily matters, identity, the trace of time, trips (that are also a part of my daily existence). I photograph my day to day and the things that surround me. My work is systematic and methodical, I guess because of my scientific background, and I like to develop deeply my subjects in order to make them stronger.
