LEXYGIUS SANCHEZ CALIP b. March 24, 1974, Quezon City, Philippines, an interdisciplinary artist, He studied Fine Arts at the Technological University of the Philippines. He had several solo exhibitions in Manila and took part with numerous group exhibitions, workshops, talks and lectures in the Philippines and the United States. A Freeman Fellowship Foundation Fellow and Alumni for the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson VT, and an Artist in Residence Alumni for The Stonehouse Residency for the Contemporary Art in California. He was a Thirteen Artist Awards Nominee with the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and the Ateneo Art Awards at the Ateneo Museum of Modern Art in Manila, and had merits from the Arts Association of the Philippines and The Philip Morris Asean Art Awards, and a part of The Shadequarter Initiative for the Arts in CA. He lived and practiced in Oakland CA since 2006 and maintained a studio at The Hunter’s Point Studios in San Francisco CA until 2013 before moving to the Midwest. He now maintains a studio at The Pilsen Art & Design Center in downtown Chicago, and currently resides and continues his Art practice in Chicago IL.
