Biography
I Create Space.
Immersive, site-specific disorienting environments striving to activate all bodily senses while intellectually provoking the mind to challenge perceptions of the reality. My installations are being born during a process of me inhabiting a site, which I otherwise call a construction process. Depending on the context, materials are always different and assume learning new techniques/skills with each projects.
I work across mediums, extensively using video, sound, drawing, performance, and currently VR and neuroscience.
The main idea is to construct an experience of a pure space that transfers us in-between realities by activating and challenging all our perceptions. To a certain extent, I am striving to grasp the meaning of life-death duality and understand fundamentals of human existence.
Among my works are ambitious outside environments, nine-room installations, 'living-installations' when the whole installation continuously changes over the duration of the exhibition, installations working with inside-outside duality and turning those relations inside out, interactive installations at the context of which a body becomes a tool penetrating a space [human element penetration] confronting a built environment battling with the dissolution and vagueness
Alongside with questioning reality, my creations are greatly concerned with our perception of space and the idea of space as such built from ephemeral materials or materials that become ephemeral when being constructed into the space. Each work is largely being developed directly on site, in a way acting as a revelation or surprise to my own self, – and that is why everything that happens around the site area at the moment I work there influences the work to a certain extent as well as each interaction with people there matters.
