Biography
My name is Shire Zinger, 26-years old, raised in Raanana, currently living in Jerusalem, working hard on finishing my BA in art and design, in the Bezalel academy, this summer.
I study in the jewelry&object department, exploring and working with a wide range of materials, starting from metals thru wood ,ceramics ,plastics etc.
In my work I try to combine ready-made pieces along with my own adaptation in order to add humor and interact better with the viewers.
Living in jerusalem has a big influence on the issues I choose to handle, using found objects from the land itself like flowers and other organic treasures, historical objects, and iconic images from the "collective memories" of this land.
I always try to make accessible project- even to the not so art-familiar eye, in order to raise discussions about memories, identity, collective and communities.
