Sirpa Särkijärvi, born in 1974 Muonio, Finland. Lives and works in Turku, Finland. Särkijärvi’s paintings depict time, social environment, identity and society in various different cultures. Combining factor in Särkijärvi’s paintings is human, in all of his/her complexity and similarity. Societies are depicted through individuals, individuals are depicted as independent, detached subjects.
