Biography
Giuseppe Alletto (born in Palermo, 13 October 1990), Artist, lives and works in Sicily. He dedicates himself to Curatorial projects and Art critique too.
He completed secondary school (Liceo Classico) with top grades in his final year public examinations. He graduated in History of Art (Faculty of Literature and Philosophy) at the University of Palermo with 100 out of 100 cum laude as a final mark. He presented a degree thesis focusing on the relationship between the italian poet Gabriele D’Annunzio and the New Media.
As an artist, in July 2015 his artworks were shown in an exhibition on Lorenzo Reina’s “Fattoria dell’Arte (Art Farm)” of Santo Stefano Quisquina (Agrigento, Sicily). In October 2014 his work was shown in an exhibition on “XXS Gallery” of Palermo. The exhibition was curated by Salvo Ferlito. In January 2013 his work was shown in an exhibition on the campus of Palermo University.
He held his first two public exhibitions in December 2008 and May 2010 in ‘Palazzo Aragona-Cutò’ in Bagheria (Palermo – Sicily).

He was featured in the March 2010 edition of the magazine ‘ARTE Mondadori’ and in the book ‘Tra Forma e Figura’ (Between Form and Figure) compiled by Paolo Levi. His work has been reproduced in the bi-monthly magazine ‘Effetto Arte’ (Art Effect) and in ‘Arte Shop Magazine’.
He was featured on the cover of the first issue of the new magazine ‘OverArt’. His works constitute part of the iconography of volumes of poetry and prose by several authors.
He was the winner of the Satura Prize in 2012, in the young artist category.
One of his artworks became a part of the collection of Palazzo Steri in Palermo.
He was featured on the cover of the September 2012 edition of "Arte Shop Magazine" and, within the magazine, an article by the artist himself discussed issues relating to contemporary art. Newspapers such as "Il Giornale di Sicilia", "Balarm", "Magaze", "La Sicilia" and television stations as "Tele One", “Tv 2000”, "RAI 3 Sicilia" have shown great interest in his works of art.
He was a finalist in the painting section of Arte Mondadori Prize in 2016
He was a finalist in FAM Giovani-Fabbriche Chiaramontane prize of Agrigento.

As a Curator or art critic, he is the Founder and Director of Scala dei Turchi White Wall in Realmonte (Agrigento – Sicily).
The project has been founded by Giuseppe Alletto in collaboration with Michele Lombardo and Dario Orphée. Scala dei Turchi White Wall is an artist’ residence program and an open air park for contemporary art located near the famous tourist site of Scala dei Turchi.
He is the Curator of Fattoria dell’Arte/Teatro Andromeda (Art Farm/Andromeda Theatre) of Lorenzo Reina in Santo Stefano Quisquina (Agrigento – Sicily).
In 2016 he directed and curated the art and design space “Sosta Visiva” in Caltanissetta (Sicily).
He was one of the curators of Polline art, a gallery specialized in Digital Art and New Media Art. The project was promoted by Farm Cultural Park of Favara (Agrigento – Sicily).
From 2012 to 2015 he worked as a Cultural Event Planner on behalf of Sicilia Antiqua s.r.l. (Palermo).
He writes articles about art, cinema and culture in italian magazines like “Cinema Sperimentale” (Palermo), “D’Ars” (Milan), “Espoarte” (Savona), “Art/Text/Pics” (Milan), “RivistaSegno” (Pescara), “ArtsLife” (Milan), “Juliet Art Magazine” (Trieste), “Il Fascino degli Intellettuali” (Milan), “LoboDiLattice” (Milan), “Frammenti” (Milan).
His essay about the relationship between poetry and art was inserted in the book “Dià-Lògoi” (Edizioni CFR di Gianmario Lucini, Sondrio, pp.69, 10 euro, ISBN 978-88898-677-35-1).
One of his critic wrtings was published in the art catalogue “I Misteri: Un percorso tra arte e teologìa” (Edizioni Torri del Vento, 2016, Palermo, 18 euro, ISBN 978-8899-89-61-26 ).
His essay on martyrdom and execution in the history of art is to be included in a forthcoming
publication on the Palermo ‘Cult of the Decapitated’ and on the death penalty. The work is compiled by Rita Cedrini and Marilena Volpes .
