Biography
Hello,
I’m Gawie Joubert, a South African artist living and working in Johannesburg, South Africa.
After studying at North West University in Potchefstroom from 2007 to 2010 and receiving my BA (Hon.) in Graphic Design, I set out for Johannesburg, where I worked for 3 years as an awarded Art Director and Illustrator.
It didn’t take long for me to realise I wanted to dedicate every second of my time working towards my true passion, art.
I’m currently experimenting with ink and the indelible serendipity of the medium, whilst still remaining adaptive to other mediums. My work thus far has explored themes of identity as well as the complex connections between humans and their surroundings.
