Biography
Drawn to all things creative and visual from a very young age, Marion Mille studied applied arts, before creating her eponymous fashion label in 2002. Her experiments with shapes and materials as a designer influenced her art: the boldness she found while working with volume translated into decisive and expressive strokes characteristic of her drawings, and her interest in mixing techniques and materials manifested itself in her three-dimensional collages, complemented by sensual ink lines.
After focusing on fashion for several years, in 2009 Mille came back to art. Several personal life events that involved dealing with issues from the past prompted her to start psychotherapy, and she soon felt a need to lay her frustrations and phobias on the paper. This resulted in a number of ongoing series of drawings, paintings and collages that deal with various aspects of the human condition in a therapeutic way.
