Biography
Eva Gjaltema (Netherlands, 1979) sees photography primarily as a medium for recording time, memories and transience. In her last projects the notion of the family is a recurring theme in her work. She makes use of different type of media from analogue to digital photography and collage.
Eva majored in Cultural Studies at the University of Amsterdam and has a Bachelor Degree in Photographic Design at the Royal Academy for the Visual Arts in The Hague. She has participated in different exhibitions in the Netherlands (Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, de Kunsthal Rotterdam, Noorderlicht Photofestival, Seelevel Photogallery Amsterdam) and abroad (Photography Open Salon in Arles, London, Penang, Le Garage in Arles). Her project 'Famylje' is part of the collection of the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands and other works are in private collections.
