Biography
Filippo Chiappara was born in Aragona on tue 1 March 1962. He moved to Caltanissetta with his family; there he attended the Art Institute "F. Juvara" of San Cataldo (CL) where he first achieved the title of "Maestro d'Arte" and then, in 1982, the diploma of "Maturità d'Arte Applicata". Successively, in 1987, he achieved the graduation of the Academy of Art, painting section. In these years he knows a group of young artists, they start visiting many sicilian cities and they took place in several extemporary Painting.
He has always cultivated his passion for art, and thanks to his formative journey he was able to express his wishes and find the way that made art his life-companion. The two artistic journeys enabled him to get in touch with different methods, machineries, painting techniques that Filippp kept using even in his profession of teacher in the courses of vocational training in the penal institutions of the province of Caltanissetta. He discovers again a passion born in his childhood, so he starts creating monumental cribs during the Christmas time, in order to adorn his house and make his family feel happy.
In these places he taught and he specialized in inlaid work, serigraphy and pyrography techniques, and in the realization of small objects made of wood and papier-mâché. He is known for creating sicilian landscape paintings which arouse in him strong suggestions and emotion.
His artistic career keeps going on between his work commitments. He gives his paintings to his relatives and his friends, so they reach many countries in the world such us Canada, Germany, France Belgium and Italian cities like Bologna, Torino, Palermo, Caltanissetta etc.
