Biography
Geena Roh was born in Seoul with congenital heart disease. Everyone assumed that she would die soon but she made her 18th birthday and decided to be an artist. But in her 19th winter, her health took a turn for the worse and the doctor told her and her mother to be ready. So Geena’s mother, who is her biggest supporter and friend, helped Geena to prepare the exhibition. Finally Geena had the 1st exhibition in her 19th summer at the narrow alley in front of her house.
Geena has never been trained in drawing. But she tried to do her works with various materials: acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil and pen arts to broaden her skills in the art world.
Using colorful art work, she has had solo exhibitions and collaboration six times with friends.
Geena’s latest art work material is Korean traditional silk. She has been attracted by it since the summer in 2014.
Geena also has a big project to support children patients who are still struggling with the same disease like hers. Another one of her projects includes using her to focus attention on animals which have been abandoned and abused.
