Biography
As an artist one ideally looks for sources of inspiration that will last a lifetime. In the context of media saturation where certain values are lost and Human Beings are expendable I found my calling by way of helping myself, through the use of Hair on canvas, to find the path that lead back to who and what I really am.
De-objectifying through the use and manipulation of objects, de-materializing through the use and manipulation of materials.
With my work I explore the idea of reconnection of ourselves and others just the way the characters and past owners of the hair plastered on the canvas are connected without their knowing and by chance.
Observation and contemplation that hopefully bring up the main three elements that I distilled from my own experience in this process that are also symbolic of the material in question; resilience, human bonds and memory.
