Biography

"Join my mission to push the boundaries of creative expression by helping art evolve into activity!"

I'm George Linicomn Jr. an Artist/Designer in Arlington, Texas and creator of "Participative Art". Participative art is an unfinished piece of artwork that is displayed for the public to participate on by following my instructions. "The public is no longer just a spectator but a participant or collaborators in my creative process." There are different styles of participative art, for example: Grid, Thoughts, Paint by numbers, Freestyle, pixel, sculpture and Signature. There are many reasons for presenting this artform to the public. One reason is to record individual & public expression through visual creativity. Another reason is to have compositions that have the capacity to evolve and noticeably change, even far beyond the life of the artist.

Why do I create Participative art? After understanding then accepting my diagnosis of having aspergers syndrome, I realized that I was naturally drawn to topics related to social relationships even though It was extremely difficult to personally understand relationships with people in general. Participative art not only allows me opportunities to creatively interact with people but it also allows a public exploration into topics such as our relations towards change, the desire to control within unpredictable situations, and the power of collective social activism. Art usually displays an artist expressions, views and opinions from their perspective of the world, people, or situations taking place within their lifetime. I want participative art to display a multitude of expressions from all walks of life while pushing the boundaries of what the art world is comfortable with promoting, displaying and ultimately selling. I truly feel that when we come together as a collective force, that collective force becomes a power able to change the world.

I've been a artist for well over 20 years but virtually unknown because of the unconventional method by which I create my art. Next year I'll be moving to Guatemala to begin a series of pieces based on the region's culture, materials, and expressions directly taken from the people living in that area. My plans are to follow that creative model while traveling to different countries around the world.

My ultimate goal is to establish a new form of art that evolves the way we experience art. Art has the potential to not only display the artist perspective but also generates personal expressions that are visually recorded from a multitude of people living today so those recorded expressions can be look back on, learned from and enjoyed for generations to come.
