Biography

Born in 1984 in southern France, I study the relations of influences between the sound universe and the material world. The objective of this initiative is to re-think the « Speech Act » process by means of the artistic creation. I operate a critical return on this notion, developed by the philosopher John Langshaw Austin, to extract it from its purely linguistic frame.
Since the notion of « Speech Act » or « Performative » was determined, we know the way the language become an act when it goes away from its descriptive function. The language get the power to interfere in the reality to modify it. It is not any more the tool used to express or describe the reality such as it appears. In this case the language loses its neutrality and, by the same, it doesn’t separate fact and fiction. Then, it becomes way of behaving on the world. When the language is descriptive it passes and the reality stays. On the contrary, when it is performative the language passes and the reality change, it colors it.
My artistic project is based on this hypothesis : the sound realm acts when it expands. A single word may modify the reality commonly accepted. To what extent the sound universe shapes the world and influences our reality ? Understanding the « power of the words » is my goal. Language is a remarkable tool, especially in the political and social domains. Its manipulation becomes increasingly evident. In the crossing of the sound and visual worlds, I study sound and vocal elements stemming from the politico-social current events and transform them into sculptural forms and graphic plans.
